This dish was part of a meal that was created for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “Southern”. I am just going to start that this makes a lot but I am 100% ok with that. I plan to eat this for days because of how good it is. It might look like a pain due to the waiting and simmering time but I barely noticed it.
This dish was created for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “One Pot”. I have never cooked with mussels before but have always really liked theme so I thought this would be a perfect time. Also, my friend made paella recently and it looked really good and I wanted to try my hand at it.
Since I am still making dishes for /r/52weeksofcooking, I decided to make it a little more interesting, I decided to make each meal with a drink. I have only had horchata in a restaurant and via a powder so I decided to make it myself and holy hell this was delicious.
This is a basic rice dish that I use for many side dishes when making many different types of dishes. The best part is that it is extremely customisable to however you want to make it. Bonus, is that it is really easy and quick.
