Baked Mostaccioli

This dish was created for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “Vacation Food”. There is this Italian restaurant near my parent’s house that I visit at least once or twice a year and someone at the table almost always orders this. Does it taste better? Probably but the flavours are very different. Given that, this is really damn good and I plan on making this many many times.

Slow Cooker Beef Ragu

Spaghetti with Lamb and Italian Sausage Meatballs

This dish was prepared for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “Braised” and my second theme was “Movie or Book Inspired” so I went with Se7en when one of the victims was killed by constantly eating Spaghetti and Meatballs. I was very weary of making this due to the time required to make it… That being said, it was completely worth it and worth the wait. The meatballs were very tender, packed with flavour, and completely melted in your mouth. The sauce was pretty good too. Not the best I have had but I would have no problem eating it over and over. My girlfriend even said she would like me to make this again. No problem!

Chicken Parmigiana

This was one part of a meal cooked for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking. where the theme was “heritage”. Instead of picking just one part of my heritage to go with, I decided to go with all of it… even the smaller parts. For the Italian part, I decided to make Chicken Parmigiana. This part of my heritage was hard because I love Italian food and I was looking for something that I have never made before. I think the reason that I have never made this is that I am not the hugest fan of chicken. But cover it in homemade sauce and cheese and I am there.

Pizza Sauce

This was prepared as part of a meal cooked for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “pizza”. Like the Pizza Dough posted prior, this is a very basic sauce with a lot of room to improve on. Normally my go to “red sauce” is my Slow Cooker Marinara but this is a really good substitute if you do not have a few hours to make a sauce.

Pizza Dough

This was part of a dish prepared for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “pizza”. Since this is just an part of the whole picture, there is not much to say about it. Also, it is a very basic recipe but it is my go to pizza dough recipe. I suggest experimenting with different types of flour and wet ingredients. I have used V8 and tomato sauce with this recipe with great results
