California Burrito

This dish was created for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “California Cuisine”. I grew up in California so when I saw this theme, I got a little nostalgic. Just the other week I was talking about how much I miss California burritos. I mean beans and rice are good and all but some times I want fries in my burrito. This definitely cured my craving for one and I am glad that I have enough to make a few more.

Slow Cooker Beef Ragu

This dish was created for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “spice blends”. So I decided to make my own Italian Seasoning from Basil, Marjoram, Oregano, Rosemary, Thyme, and Garlic Powder. You can use store bought Italian Seasoning or play with the spices a bit.

Choco-BBQ Chili

This dish was the completed part of a dish created for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “Bottled Sauces from Scratch” and my second theme was “Comfort Food”. While the homemade BBQ sauce satisfied the first theme, this completed dish definitely was comfort food. Juicy Lucy with Whiskey Grilled Onions

When I woke up today, the weather was abnormally warm so I decided to go for a hike. Whenever I go out in the sun or go hiking, I always get an appetite for a burger even though I am not really a burger fan. Add the fact that I picked up a bunch of ground bison the other day because I have never cooked with it and I was intrigued. This was really good that even a non-burger person like myself would definitely go back for. And incredibly juicy so much that it reminded me of those Carl’s Jr. commercials. I will definitely be looking into making different things with bison after this.

Kotleti with Mushrooms in a Sour Cream Sauce

This dish was prepared for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “breads” and my second theme was “Russian”. While this really does not look like bread, I ended up using different bread types that I figured it was fine. Also, I might have made these a little large that they ended up turning out more like mini burgers, almost slider like, instead of cutlets. Oh well, give me meat in my stomach. Slow Cooker Corned Beef & Cabbage

After attempting to make my own corned beef to make myself a reuben, I had quite a bit of corned beef left over and I could think of nothing better than some corned beef & cabbage. The fact that it was one of the colder days in the past month might have affected my decision as well. Plus, I do not care who you are or where you came from, everyone loves a warm, hearty meal when it is a bit cold out. If you do not, you are a liar.

Corned Beef

Ever since I was a kid, I have loved corned beef and never really thought how corned beef was made. Then I looked it up and the time required was kind of daunting but eventually I just said f**k it, let’s do this. The flavour difference is way beyond what I was expecting. Worth waiting a whole week before you can eat it, that is up for debate but I am really glad I tried it.
