Stuffed Mushrooms

This was the first part of a meal prepared for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “mushrooms”. While I find mushrooms delicious, it was hard to find a dish where the main ingredient was mushrooms. Add that to the fact that I have made stuffed mushrooms before, this was a difficult task. That being said, I decided to make these different than I ever have and they were delicious. Completely unhealthy and delicious.

 

This recipe calls for Ass Blood but any hot chili powder will do

Ingredients

12 Whole Fresh Cremini Mushrooms
1 Tablespoon Canola Oil
3 Cloves Garlic
1 8 oz Cream Cheese , softened packages
1/4 Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/4 teaspoon A** Blood

Steps

  1. Clean Mushrooms with a damp paper towel.
  2. Break off Mushroom stems and chop.
  3. Heat Canola Oil in a large skillet over medium heat. While the Oil is heating up, mince the Garlic.
  4. Add the minced Garlic and chopped Mushroom stems. Fry until moisture has disappeared, stirring frequently to make sure the Garlic does not burn (5 – 10 minutes). Set aside to cool.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  6. When the Garlic and Mushrooms are cool, stir in the Cream Cheese, Parmesan Cheese, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, and A** Blood.
  7. Spoon the mixture into each Mushroom and place on either a foil or parchment paper lined baking sheet or a greased baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until the mushrooms are cooked through and liquid starts to form under the Mushrooms.
