Pizza Dough

This was part of a dish prepared for the subreddit, /r/52weeksofcooking, where the theme was “pizza”. Since this is just an part of the whole picture, there is not much to say about it. Also, it is a very basic recipe but it is my go to pizza dough recipe. I suggest experimenting with different types of flour and wet ingredients. I have used V8 and tomato sauce with this recipe with great results

  • Cuisine: italian
  • Cooking Time: 95 mins

1 Tablespoon White Sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
6 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 – 4 Cloves Garlic
1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1 teaspoon Kosher Salt

  1. Stir 1 cup warm water, Sugar, and Yeast together until dissolved. Let sit until the mixture starts to get foamy (about 5 – 10 minutes).
  2. Mince the Garlic. Add 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil, minced Garlic, and Italian Seasoning.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the Salt and Flour. Add the wet ingredients and stir until well blending, adding more Flour as necessary. The dough should be smooth and not sticky.
  4. Loosely cover with a paper towel and let sit for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  6. Top with pizza toppings, brush Olive Oil on crust, and bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
